Our Story

For over forty years, Terra Incognito has been serving Oak Park and the surrounding communities as one of the oldest pottery studios in the Chicagoland area. Through the years, we have been able to serve people from 5 years old, to 80 and over in pursuing their creative passions in clay. We offer wheel throwing and hand building pottery classes for individuals, for small and large groups, workshops, and shelf rental for established makers.

With four separate studios, 36 wheels, and a dedicated glazing room including gas and electric kilns, we provide everything you need in order to make your clay dreams come true. In our gallery and classrooms you will find the work of seasoned potters from near and far, many have visited Terra Incognito through the years to teach at workshops. At Terra, you will find a space to be creative, experimental and curious - with someone (whether a resident artist, staff member or teacher) always available to answer your questions. We hope you'll enjoy the space as much as we do!
